In the fall of 2020, the nonprofit organization Connecting Kids to Meals (based in Toledo, Ohio) wanted to send out a comprehensive thank you message to all of the people & organizations that had helped them to spearhead the efforts in northwest Ohio to organize meal programs for low-income families that had lost their access to free meal programs due to schools closing in March 2020 because of the Covid pandemic.
Rather than simply creating an email (or a print piece), the client was interesting in putting together a more dynamic and interactive piece that could be updated after distribution if needed.
We decided that a simple, one-page web site that communicated the story and shared key highlights of the impact the organization had been able to make would be the best method of showing gratitude for the organization's benefactors. So, I quickly got to work (using Webflow) to create a simple (but dynamic) site with parallax scrolling animations, embedded videos, and photos from the past six months, ending with the big "Thank You" at the end.
